As a Chef and traveller who spent all his early years in Asia, my fist trip to Italy was full of excitement and I couldn’t wait to get to Venice and start giving my taste buds a gastronomical treat and my eyes a visual feast.
Venice is well-known as the city of love, but alas I was travelling alone and determined not to let this stop me from having a grand time, so off I went as soon as I arrived to experience all the food and amazing sights I could, all in a weekend.
But firstly, my accommodation was just amazing, I stayed at the beautiful Villa Lupis in Pordenone, it was at one time a home to nuns and I have to say it was the most amazing place I have stayed in to date.
The food was amazing, I ate pasta, seafood, bread, dessert and drank wine, all the things you do when you are in Venice for the first time, it was all incredibly delicious, check out the yummy pics below.
The freshness of the ingredients and the simplicity of the food style was very reminiscent of my experiences in Japan. When discussing food with the local people, there was always passion in their voices when they spoke.
