Hi, welcome to my creative space on the web. My name is Steve Roberts and I am a passionate chef and food enthusiast who has spent much of my early years traveling and experiencing many parts of Asia. I also spent time at the Regent Hotel in Sydney mentored by Chef Serge Dansereau, I am now based and living in the beautiful city of Auckland.
Since returning to New Zealand some 20 years ago, I have been fortunate enough to run some great food establishments, these include the Hotel Du vin, Spencer on Byron Hotel, Selini Estate, Nosh Gourmet and my own Restaurant Scoozi . These establishments have allowed me to express my food philosophies and values, but none more so than the Auckland Seafood School.
My time spent in Asia has left me with many passions and seafood is one of the greatest. The Auckland Seafood School has values strongly aligned with my own, which are, freshness and simplicity of finished product, locality and knowledge of the source, and above all, produces food from the heart that nourishes the soul, providing a platform for great conversations and friendships.
